November Recipe: Turmeric Latte


Turmeric is a powerful plant known for its vast amount of healing properties. This special little root contains a substance known as curcumin, which can aid in the body’s response to inflammation. Turmeric can also improve cognitive capabilities, detoxify your body, and boost your immune system!

Cooking with turmeric can provide these benefits, but taking it a concentrated form is the best .

We came up with a turmeric ‘latte’, a tasty way to take your turmeric that you’ll be craving all winter long!

Ingredients:

  • Hot water

  • Turmeric tincture (pictured: Herb Pharm)

  • Almond Milk (or milk of your choice, we used Forager vanilla cashew milk)

  • Cinnamon (pictured: Frontier co-op Vietnamese cinnamon)

  • Any sweetener you might want to add! i.e. honey, agave, brown sugar, etc.

Directions:

  1. Bring 1-2 cups of hot water to a boil

  2. Drop 1.5-2 mL. (About 2 droppers full) of turmeric tincture into your cup

  3. Fill your cup about ½ -¾ of the way with hot water

  4. Top with milk of your choice

  5. Sprinkle with cinnamon

  6. Enjoy!
